A place to unwind your mind and relax. If you are looking for a place to quiet down your mind and just relax, I would recommend Kingdom Resort. I visited Kingdom Resort in mid January 2017, and, I was really happy with my choice. I spent a week at Kingdom Resort, but I wish I had stayed longer. The staff at the resort is amazing! The place is very charming and well kept. It has the personal touch of its owner, Caterina, who always makes sure that everything and everyone is well taken care of. The Ayurvedic personnel are very professional and dedicated to your well being. The meals are incredible! They are well balanced and very healthy. The location, a few meters from the sea, is great for walkings early mornings and late afternoons. And, of course some enjoyable swimming too. Like I said before, it is a place to unwind and relax.

Extremely relaxing and very friendly staff We had a wonderful week at a hotel that should be filled to capacity in high season, but because it is a little known place we had the hotel all by our self. The manager and his wife did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The dining area is very kitch, the beach is amazing.

    Dr. Damitha Prameeth Uyangoda

Core Subject: Certified Ayurveda Specialists And Doctors

Ayurveda finds its origin from the observation of nature and their formative influence on our entire lives. This basic principle is the leitmotif of his work with Ayurveda. If we are approaching these processes given by nature again and perceive its effects on us deliberately, we are on the path of health or healing in case diseases have already became manifested. Dr. Damitha studied at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and successfully graduated with the Bachelor BAMS (HONS). Additional trainings such as physiotherapy, Ayurvedic Massage and Ayurvedic beauty programs and the job as instructor at the Anatomical Department of Indigenous Medicine are the testimony of an unsatisfied thirst for knowledge. Currently, he is working as a doctor in Ayurveda clinic in Galle, as well.

The Kingdom Ayurveda Resort is located on the Southern tip of Sri Lanka between the towns of Matara and Tangalle at the beach of the small village Kottegoda. The resort is open to all guests who appreciate a small and familiar atmosphere in a spa facility. The unique location directly at the kilometer long white sandy beach is really a special feature. Here, far away from the bustle of busy streets, you can only hear the continuous swooshing of the Indian Ocean. This is the perfect precondition for a successful Ayurveda treatment.

The concept of an Ayurvedic Treatment includes a complex system with Five (Panch) Actions (Karma)that serves the excretion of toxic substances, metabolic waste products and disease causes. Actually, you can briefly say it with the words: “Everything must go!”

There will be daily yoga sessions and meditation classes for the duration of the program. Yoga exercises will help to improve the psycho-physical balance and relax the mind and body as well as make it more elastic. Meditation helps to discipline the mind and intellect, combat daily stress, and harmonize emotions, and you can receive information on correct posture, practicing effective breathing and concentration exercises.

  • Daily morning meditation for intellectual mind.
  • Daily Ayurveda treatment after the consultation from our in house doctor.
  • Evening yoga session for rejuvenating yourself.
  • Fruit juice and herbal tea available all the time.
  • Freshly prepared organic food prepared by our chef for breakfast, lunch and dinner

The beautiful guesthouse built in proper style of an old colonial mansion is nestled in a landscaped tropical garden. Eight lovely furnished guest rooms are available, each with a bathroom that meets European standard. Each of the eight rooms has a spacious balcony or terrace with a wonderful sea view. You can choose between two room categories.

Room Types:

Standard room

The four standard rooms are located on the first floor of the main building and have a big balcony with a comfortable seating and direct sea view. A ventilator cares for a pleasant indoor climate.

Standard double rooms have a big queen-size bed, while standard single rooms have a big single bed. A mosquito net is spanned over all beds. A wardrobe, a desk, a luggage stand as well as table and chair complete the furnishing of the rooms.

Superior room

Superior rooms are a bit larger and located either on the first floor or on ground floor. On the first floor, rooms have a balcony with an adjacent big terrace. On the ground floor, a comfortable loggia invites for relaxed leisure.

All rooms are equipped with a queen-size bed spanned with a mosquito net. A ventilator cares for a pleasant indoor climate. With demand, you can individually regulate the air condition every time. A wardrobe, a desk, a luggage stand as well as table and chair complete the furnishing of the room.

The meals at the Kingdom Ayurveda Resort take place on fixed dates in the open restaurant and are freshly prepared every day. The attentive servers serve them at your table. You can completely relax and enjoy the meal calmly.

Breakfast should be light and easily digestible. Here, the chefs select from a wide range of fresh, ripe fruits of the tropical island of Sri Lanka. In addition to that, there is an optional hot herb soup, freshly baked rotis with palm syrup, or gently steamed legumes, which are rich in minerals and proteins. Lunch is a colorful plate with some raw vegetables, freshly cooked vegetable curries and rice.

A small dessert satisfies the sweet taste. Dinner consists of a vegetable soup, a selection of vegetables and sometimes a bit of fish. A light dessert completes the taste experience at the evening. Kingdom Ayurveda Resort's chefs are very creative, and visually implementing the Ayurvedic principles into the cuisine.

Yoga is part of Ayurveda:

“Ayurveda is the science and yoga is the practice of the science.”

Yoga and Ayurveda are two interrelated branches of the same great tree of Vedic knowledge that encompasses all of human life and the entire universe. It is important to understand the respective roles of Ayurveda and Yoga in the ancient Vedic system. Yoga and Ayurveda are not merely two separate but related healing disciplines. Each has its unique place and function, but each overlaps into the other on various levels.

At kingdom, our yoga teacher Acharya Aditya, from India will take you “back to the origin”, to the essence of yoga. Clear and pure, without any “modifications”.
