Found my happy place I spent one month at malika surfcamp. Three weeks in Toubab and one week in Yoff. Both places I recommend a lot!
In Toubab you find your peace, you can relax on a quite beach and enjoy sunsets and yoga on the beautiful terasse. There is also the possibibility to do SUP, when there is not that much swell. In Toubab you also have a nice beach break!
For people who want some action and city life, Yoff is the perfect place. You are on a city beach and there´s always something to do: city trips, beach volley, yoga..in Yoff are more different surf spots. Malika is the perfect destination for everyone, people who want silcene or families will have a wonderful holiday in Toubab, people who travel alone and want action, should go to Yoff.
The best thing is, if you ask, you can stay a few days in Yoff and a few in Toubab, so don´t hesitate to ask Marta and the team, they are so nice and really good surfing teachers Thank you for the wonderful month, can´t wait to see you again
It was such a great experience! It was the first time I did surfing and was everything amazing.
Very good staff good people, good meals awesome space at the share bedroom with amazing views and nice waves.
If I come back to Senegal I will repeat it!
Core Subject: Yoga Instructor
Kathleen is a professional yoga instructor who will help you to soothen your practice of yoga and surf.
Dakar, in particular, is the safest and most easily accessible city in the entire West Africa, as demonstrated by the number of organizations that have their regional headquarters in the city.
Finding a taxi is not a problem at any time of the day or night. The surfhouse is only 20 minutes to Dakar downtown. From Thrusday evening many clubs offer partys with different kind of music; so you’ll find it very easy to move around and have fun!
The beach offers very nice places for lunch at the seaside with grilled fish, prawns skewers, rice and salad. You could also opt for a small European restaurant at affordable prices and of course come and enjoy a smoothy made with seasonal fruits!
Morning yoga classes will prepare your body and mind for the day of surfing ahead, while the evening yoga classes help to soothe the body and relax the mind.
Morning Vinyasa flow yoga classes are designed to prepare the body and mind for the day’s surf sessions. These dynamic Vinyasa flow and Ashtanga-inspired classes will warm-up the body with a focus on progressive sequences and “peak poses” that improve strength, flexibility and agility for surfing. Sunset Restorative yoga classes will focus on gentle flows, muscle recovery, stretching and relaxation to allow the body to unwind and revitalize after a day of surfing.
Sample Daily Schedule:
- Satiate your palate with the healthy breakfast.
- Morning Vinyasa flow yoga classes
- Surf lesson
- Time to relax and practice surfing
- Sunset restorative yoga session
- Enjoy delicious dinner.
* Schedule may change by the Malika Surf Camp instructors.
The surf house has a variety of room types: double rooms with private bathroom, single private room with private bathroom, family rooms with private bathroom, as well as twin rooms and a dormitory with common bathrooms.
The rooms have a fan and mosquito nets on the windows and above each bed. There are also personal lockers for your personal items.

Our dogs and the cats are part of the house but aren’t allowed to enter into the rooms!
We have a big outside area with a ping-pong table and slack line as well as a chill area with hammocks. There is a roof terrace to enjoy the sunset and sunrise and to watch the waves rolling in.

A big breakfast is waiting for you, which includes: milk, coffee, tea, juice, bread, butter, chocolate, cheese and marmalade. Our marmalade is produced in Senegal and we have the following flavours: bissup (from the ibiscus tree), baobab, mango and papaya.
Senegal cooking is very healthy. At the camp we offer a range of local specialities and so you are always in for a treat with a hearty and delicious meal.
The popular dish is called “thiep bu jend” (rice and fish) which is a very rich dish with fish, rice and local vegetables (carrots, magnoca, cauliflower, eggplants). There is also a version with meat which is called “thiep bu yapp”.
Another very popular Senegalese dish which we have put an European twist to, is “mafé brochettes”, with peanuts sauce, meat, potatoes and rice! We also make meat and fish skewers which are served on seperate nights.
There is always a fresh salad of lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes (washed with Amouchina) and a dessert of fruit.
We have our own basil and rosemary plants to guarantee plenty of taste! We do offer vegetarian and vegan options, just tell us in advance.
