Her Words: My style has its roots in Iyengar and Centered yoga systems, in which each aspect of the practice is an opportunity to investigate the body, the brain and the mind, and enter a region of profound inner vision which permits the body of light to shine from within toward the external world. The use of props, such as blocks, belts, chairs or walls helps the practitioner to achieve precision and careful alignment, while providing a gradual and safe approach in learning the postures which strengthens the body while refining the mind. My approach to Yoga is to help people to experience more sensations instead of more thoughts during their yoga practice; create more space and freedom in the body and the mind so they can release tension and breathe better, free up energy and increase creativity. With a focus on cultivating awareness to discover our habitual movement patterns we can then explore alignment in a safe and accessible way, in order to make more conscious choices about how we move on the mat and in life. I’ve been practising Yoga for almost 15 years and have practised and studied with a variety of teachers from different traditions, like Kundalini, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Tantra, Anusara and Centered Yoga. In 2008, I travelled to Soiano dei Lago in Italy to study with Dona Holleman and then went on to gain the 400hr Yoga Instructor Certificate in 2012 at Semilla Yoga, with Claudia Guerrero, Pilar Casillas, Alicia Ramos and Jñana Dakini as my main mentors. Since then I have taught yoga at Semilla Yoga and other Yoga schools, gyms, parks, clinics and offices, sharing the joy of yoga with different people. My studies have included Vipassana meditation and Chinese Traditional Medicine courses, Radiant Child Yoga program with Shakta Khalsa, Centered Yoga Teacher Training with Dona Holleman, Anatomy for movement Training with Marcela Sanchez, Ashtanga Yoga retreat with David Williams, Iyengar Yoga course with Christian Pisano and June Whittaker, Tantra Yoga workshop with Michael Stewart, Yoga Philosophy with Shashi Dhar Dimri, Mindfulness workshops with Alejandro Velasco, Restorative and Therapeutic yoga courses with Luis Becerril, and Mantra Yoga classes with Donald Niedermayer and Paola Giovine. My experience includes teaching yoga to women in prison and running yoga sessions for young people in a youth custody center. I also have experience of teaching yoga to people with mental health and addiction problems in a specialized rehabilitation center in Mexico.

His Words: From a young age I was interested in mysticism and practiced in different Western schools looking for one that would give me inner harmony that I was seeking. I practised mind control and meditation for many years. After a search into the interior of human beings, I wanted to find the balance of the human being on the physical side and always thought that food had to be a very important factor to find the desired balance that is constantly being searched for by humans: health. For this I inquired in different schools of nutrition and alimentation; a scrambled sea with different theories, within a system that constantly throws contradictory messages to society about diet and health. I found in the studies of the Life Science Institute my own squaring of the circle. The life science Institute gave me the missing piece to complete the puzzle. I found that the teachings of this health system fit perfectly with the ancient teachings offered in the ancient Vedic texts on Sattvic, Tamasic and Rajasic food. I learned that obtaining health is within each person. And equal to what I learned in the mystical studies, the mandate already written in the ancient temple of Apollo in Delphos “know thyself” was repeated once again. That led me to dedicate myself to reconcile nutrition with our spiritual side, because one can hardly balance one’s energy body if the physical body is not properly harmonised. And dedicated entirely to provide students the necessary path for the body to function properly according to our biological heritage.
