This place was exactly what we needed to clear our heads! From the spectacular views, friendly staff, wonderfully wholesome meals, and exceptional hiking trails we were not disappointed! We ended up booking another night because we couldn't resist one more sunset in the mountains Thanks so much Nico and staff!
Rooms were nice, service was nice and the views of the volcano from the hostel were breathtakingly good. Great place where we got a fairly cheap taxi to the dormant volcano, and then to the springs and then back again so a great location if you are looking to visit the volcano. The local town is nice as well with a few things to do.

An expert in Hatha, Vinyasa and Ying yoga, Mahela is from Cuba and she connects to yoga on a much deeper level. For her yoga is a metaphor of life itself and she channels her positivity to the participants through yoga and meditation. She is also a proficient Reiki therapist. She will motivate you to understand your thoughts, calm your mind, and learn to acknowledge them without allowing your thoughts to control your life. She believes that if you can achieve inner peace, the rest will take care of itself. With yoga, she began questioning the world and past choices which led to where she is today and she trained her mind to have more productive and heartfelt conversations. Under her expert guidance and supervision, you are sure to learn how to quiet your mind and excel in your practices.

Our project director, NicoBotefur specializes in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and is a practitioner and master coach. He is also a master practitioner of Time Line Therapy, a Naturopath and a Hydrotherapist. He was born in Germany and was raised in Spain. Nico is residing in Costa Rica since the last 16 years and Essence Arenal is his brainchild. He also studied and developed the permaculture and organic farming and is the designer of Essence Arenal organic farm and edible forest.
